ראו פירוט באצבע "תוכן עניינים" להלן,המתרגם עוסק בהגדרה של "חוכמה" "נפש חיונית"
"ותבונה". המתרגם טוען כי תרגום ספר זה בא בעקבות עניינו ב"בחינת הארץ, והדרים עליה, ותולדות הימים וחלופיהם" (עמ' [6]). הוא בחר בספר זה לתרגמו כי הוא עוסק בכיבוש הארץ, ואפשר להפיק ממנו לקח מוסרי רב. סיבה נוספת - הספר זכה לפופולריות בקרב העמים. הוא מספר על תהליך תרגום ועיבוד הספר, על סיועו של נפתלי הירץ וייזל, ועל עידודו של קאמפה עצמו את הוצאת הספר. הוא אומר שהוצאת הספר קשה לו כלכלית, ואם הספר יצליח - יוציא גם ספר שני. המתרגם חותם בתודות לאביו.
